Hello Bello vs Honest vs Pampers – Which Baby Brand Takes the Cup?

Diaper products

Today we discuss three formidable baby brands. So which is better when comparing Hello Bello vs Honest vs Pampers? I’ve been around the “baby block” enough to conclude that Pampers wins hands down. Pampers products are reliable, effective, and reasonably priced.

For most parents, deciding which baby brand to go with is no walk in the park. You have to consider factors such as effectiveness, quality, and of course price to mention a few.

In this article, I discuss all these factors and more based on my research – and experience. Talking about experience, according to my estimate I must have changed diapers at least about 500 times so far. And that’s a conservative estimate.

My Top Picks

Baby Brands Battle It Out

Making your decision will be easier if you have all the facts. Which is the better brand? Better yet, how do you go about picking the right brand? I answer all these questions in this brief buyer’s guide.

A Bit About the Brands

Founded in 2015, Hello Bello is a relatively new baby products company, an alternative to Pampers. The brand manufactures everything from diapers to baby sunscreen and everything in between. Think of Hello Bello as a one-stop-shop for all your baby products. They not only manufacture products that are best for babies but also for the environment. Hello Bello only uses plant-based ingredients for their products. Celebrity Kristen Bell and her husband Dax Shepard are the brains behind the brand. When they started this company, the duo only had one goal in mind — to manufacture natural baby products that are accessible to ALL parents.

Next up is The Honest Company which was founded in 2011 by popular American actress Jessica Alba. The brand’s product offering consists of baby and beauty products. Diapers, wipes and clothing are just some of the baby products on offer. Makeup and skincare products are also available for mommy. Safe and effective products are what you can expect from this brand. And this isn’t just an empty promise from the brand judging by how it has managed to scoop the National Best Brand Award in the Baby Line category in the American Choice Awards.

Stepping out of the limelight and into the spotlight we have the industry giant — Pampers — a brand that’s no stranger to the baby’s market. Founded in 1961, this is the brand that gives most baby product companies a run for their money. The brand’s product offering includes diapers, Swaddlers, and smart baby monitors. Quality, safety, and sustainability sum up the brand’s products.

I know, it may seem impossible to pick between these three brands. But don’t worry, In this next section I’ll teach you exactly what to look out for.

Factors to Consider when Picking a Brand

So how do you single out one brand from the rest? Do you go with the brand that has been around for years? Or, you pick the one that was founded by your favorite celebrity? Maybe you’d rather root for the brand that backs the environment? Well, different people make choices based on different motivations. But here on Projectfather, I’m all about FACTS. So, let me help you out with a few factors to consider before making your choice:

  • Natural or non-organic products: Do you want products that are made of organic or natural products? I know that for eco lovers, purchasing non-organic ingredients is out of the question. But more than anything else, natural products are free from chemical ingredients that could potentially harm your baby’s delicate skin. Hello Bello manufactures plant-based products while Pampers and Honest offer both natural and non-organic product lines.
  • Price: You want a brand that you can afford since you’ll be using these products for years. Hello Bello products are the cheapest of the three. Honest is the most expensive.
  • Ingredients: What are the ingredients that make up the brand’s products? Babies have extremely sensitive skin. You want to steer clear from products that include chlorine, latex, parabens, dyes and lotions. While Hello Bello products are made of plant-based ingredients, they also include non-synthetic fragrances like Vanilla and Lavender in plenty of their products. They claim that these are safer than synthetic scents. Is this something you’re willing to gamble on? Pampers also incorporates subtle fragrances, dyes and lotions in the inner lining of some of their products. But they do offer a line of organic diapers – Pure Protection – that are free from such so you have options. Honest products aren’t 100% natural as they also contain a few synthetics. But rest easy knowing that they only include safe synthetics.

Are there any other alternatives?

If you want all-natural products that are reasonably priced and have zero chemicals you can consider Bambo. If Pampers products are too expensive for you, you could opt for Huggies which I compared in this Pampers vs Huggies article. This alternative also offer both organic and non-organic products at a lower price point.

FAQ

What are the differences between TCF and ECF diapers?

TCF is an abbreviation for Totally Chlorine Free. It follows that these diapers are completely free from chlorine. On the other hand, ECF stands Elemental Chlorine Free and these diapers aren’t 100% free from chlorine.

Is it worth investing in natural diapers?

This is up to you. If your baby has sensitive skin, natural diapers are the best compared to non-organic diapers. However, the trade-off is that most natural diapers rarely contain blowouts effectively. It all boils down to what your priorities are as a parent.

Conclusion

From the three brands, Pampers takes the cup. The brand produces resilient, high-quality, and affordable products. If you’re not a fan of non-organic products, you can opt for their organic range. I’m only disappointed that the brand doesn’t offer other baby care products such as shampoos and bubble baths.

Hello Bello products are mostly plant-based but do have a hint of fragrances. And their diapers don’t effectively contain blowouts. I’d have picked Honest products, but they are too pricy. Also, some of their newer products (i.e. their wipes) are fragranced and not as reliable making the brand questionable where consistency is concerned.
